Words of Inspiration

Words of Inspiration and Motivation

President Lyndon B. Johnson stated in his speech about Head Start: “The bread that is cast upon these waters will surely return many thousandfold.”

“We have taken up the age-old challenge of poverty and we don’t intend to lose generations of our children to this enemy of the human race.”

Marian Wright Edelman “Service is the rent we pay for being. It is the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time.”

“Service is what life is all about.”

Inspiring quotes from the media segment of week 2. Louise Derman Sparks – “Built in passion to make a contribution to the world.”
“Always wanted to be a teacher played teacher rather than playing house.”

  1. I really enjoyed the first quote you chose from Marian Wright Edelman! I agree that we should be at service for man kind, and we should strive for that with out expecting something in return.

  2. “We have taken up the age-old challenge of poverty and we don’t intend to lose generations of our children to this enemy of the human race.” Love this one! And I believe by providing children with positive childhood experience at school would built a strong foundation that benefit their future !

  3. Lyndon B Johnson had an idea that was very interesting and seemingly faith based when he started Head Start. He was saying what we reap what we sow. The harvest will be bountiful if we put our time, effort and resources into the child. I love that..coupled with the attitude of a servant as Marian Edelman states...can you imagine how we could change the direction of the lives of little people everywhere...?
